Happy New Year

I wish you an amazing year ahead filled with love and joy.  A year in which you experience life fully.

I wish you an amazing year ahead filled with love and joy.  A year in which you experience life fully.

Let me share with you how the year went. Each year I create a vision for myself to commit to and attain.  I have committed toward being authentic, transparent, connected, happy, joyous, passionate, loving, accepting, forgiving, expressive and most of all be on integrity.  I have kept up this way of being most of the hours and most of the days.  And the times that I wasn’t, I shifted back to my commitment as quickly as possible.

This year has been interesting with Covid-19 creating more opportunity for me to see clients and even socialize online.  Although it is different when I don’t sit beside another person to feel their presence, I had to gain the expertise to be fully present with each and everyone via zoom or FaceTime.  I decided to close my Beverly Hills office and officially be in Orange County with only one office in San Clemente and see clients mostly online.  It is interesting, I miss being in people’s presence, and yet truly enjoy the comfort of my home while I see people online.  The lack of traffic from my bedroom to kitchen to my home office is delightful.  The ability to hop to the kitchen for a snack during the day and chat with my husband during my breaks is a blessing. I used to be known for never being home and did not know how this staying at home norm would turn out.  Surprisingly, I really enjoy being and working from home, and don’t have the old need or desire to always be out. My connection with my clients stayed the same and even at times appreciated each other more.  It appeared to me that connecting from home for both clients and I made the professional relationship warmer.  I acknowledge that for some it just did not work and they needed to come to the office.  Sitting at the office with masks on which did not allow us to see our full facial expression was an inconvenience, and yet a responsible act which so far has saved me and my clients from covid-19. There were many losses and had to grieve many normal ways of being and acting.  However, overall I went through the transition smoothly.

The notion of both my husband and I working from home and being at the same location for 24 hours was very new.  He used to travel a lot and I used to work 12 hour days at the office. We made it and actually made us closer.  Previously we both needed lots of space not to feel suffocated, and yet found ways to give each other room to breath while we enjoyed knowing that the other is in close vicinity and then connect multiple times during the day.  My promise was to fall in love every day, and I have.  I think I really like this and might experience separation anxiety if we go back to the previous norm. LOL. We welcomed an addition to our family, a white Pomeranian named Mr. Spock which has brought the ultimate joy for us.

I finished the Awareness Integration Therapy book as the manual for therapists this year ready to be published.  Then with 2 amazing colleagues started Intentional Parenting book which will be published May 2021. I have 7 weekly Radio/television shows in Farsi and 2 Radio/podcast shows in English. Plus live instagram programs and online lectures for various groups.  Began a zoom group “Kavosh” bringing experts from all walks of life to brainstorm together about matters pertaining to humanity, It has been a full year.  I feel blessed and thankful for everyone who has supported me.  I learned to be flexible with life as it brings surprises every day and to continue with what I believe in no matter what the circumstances are.

I am ready for more in 2021.  Teaching the Awareness Integration Model in Cal State Long Beach, conducting multiple research with children at childcare, schools and family therapy, creation of an App for the model, facilitating online workshops for the public, and courses for therapists.  I am on a roll and excited.

Now, how about you?How was your last year?

What did you learn about yourself?

What was the toughest time you had to endure?

What were you flexible with?

What were your achievements in different areas of your life?

What were you loses?

How did you handle your loss?

Who do you commit to be?

Write your declarations and live them.
